Jules’ early careers included: scenery and lighting design for theatre, opera, and ballet; arena touring; and casino entertainment management. Combined, they contributed to a broad range of successful major capital projects worldwide while he served, for more than two decades, as project manager and long-time partner at Theatre Projects Consultants, Inc.,

He now provides theatre planning, theatre consulting, and business development services as Jules Lauve Associates.

Jules actively listens to clients' wants and needs, helps distill them to the language of architecture, then collaborates with the design and construction teams to plan, design, build, and equip performance spaces fit for purpose.

He firmly believes, "First you build the team, then you build the building." Building a team for a specific project is as much about right-sizing as it is achieving best-chemistry which together result in strong, long-lasting relationships with clients.  So, for projects which, due to scope or schedule, require a larger team, he brings to the table other uniquely qualified, proven experts in their respective disciplines and relevant technologies.

Jules was a founding principal member of the NFPA Special Effects Committee which authored NFPA 160 Flame Effects Before an Audience and NFPA 1126 Pyrotechnics Before a Proximate Audience. He has lectured at Yale University,  University of Southern California, Long Beach City College, and Stephen F. Austin State University.
